Currently Brave uses OpenStreet Map along with Trip Advisor and Yelp for local business searches and reviews. I find myself often resorting to Google for these particular functions. I would love to see Brave implement their own in-house mapping system for an enhanced user experience when searching local businesses. Along with that, a user review system similar to google so Brave users can start generating our own reviews to finally break away from relying on google. For me, this is the last feature that would enable me to never have to use Google again. This would benefit potential customers and business owners everywhere and make Leo AI even more useful. I realize this is probably a large undertaking but it is worth it. Finally, I know this is a “desktop” request but it goes without saying that this is a feature that should be on mobile as well. I hope to hear back from someone on this.
Thank you
Here is a solution for you:
Being easily found in local searches is crucial. Right now, many builders notice customers rely heavily on Google for finding contractors, checking reviews, and viewing project photos. While platforms like Yelp help, they don’t always highlight specialty builders like barndominium experts.
Some builders suggest having a dedicated system (like what’s described for Brave) could help niche construction businesses stand out. Instead of getting lost in generic “home builder” searches, barndo specialists could be easier to find if the platform understood specific terms like “post-frame construction” or “custom barndominium builders in PA,” Local reviews from actual clients would also be more reliable than broader sites where non-specialists might leave misleading feedback.
The challenge is making sure any new system actually reaches customers. Many homeowners start their search on big platforms simply because that’s where everyone looks. Until alternatives gain traction, most barndominium builders still need to maintain Google profiles while exploring other options.
