How to gain rewards on my wallet if I didn't have an Uphold account?

Hi didn’t understand how Brave is giving me a wallet handled by Uphold if I did not have an Uphold account…
Can you help me ? Did I have to create my account on Uphold ?

In-browser wallet that you have under brave://rewards is a custodian wallet, which is managed by Uphold, Brave’s partner.

Not sure to understand what custodian means (damn frenchie here xD) I didn’t get any BAT with 6 ads viewed, is it normal ?
