How do you get "Web for Google Messages" to work?

Trying to move away from Chrome, where I use its Google Messages Chrome app, really the only reason right now to keep using Chrome. So I found the “Web for Google Messages” 5.9 extension (ID hkhjfcfonfkhnpcpkhpbpmplnlcpcldh), and installed it. A window pops up (“Web for Google Messages | WWEvents Apps”), and it’s not very readable, mostly not in English, and even though there’s a QR Code shown like you use for pairing with Google Messages, it doesn’t work. What’s needed to fire this thing up?

Okay, this can be closed. Don’t need no stinkin’ extension. Just use the Google messages web site. Duh.

@Durhammer,
That seems like a good workaround. For the extension, my bet is that this option in brave://settings/extensions needs to be toggled “on” for it to work:

I don’t know why this was closed and called solved. I have been using the Google Messages website on Chrome for a long time and was also using it on Brave but today it stopped working. No matter how many I have closed the browser or rebooted my phone it does not work, but it works fine on Chrome. So it’s not just as simple as going to the Google Messages website. Duh!

@cruisedirector , what pairing method are you using? I’m pretty sure I am using the “account based” pairing on both this version (1.73.91) of Brave on Linux, as well as on a long-deprecated version of Brave on my Lenovo tablet (maxed out at Android 6). For whatever reason, I couldn’t get a QR code to show, so I started using the Google account version of pairing. At one point, I also couldn’t get the required emoji to show, so I just kept trying and guessing at the emoji to match on my phone until it worked. Hope this helps.
