Google Meet: not able to share full screen or tab (error 11), but share windows work

Description of the issue:
I get error 11 every time I try to share the whole screen or a tab in Google Meet.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
1 - Start a google meet.
2 - Try to share the whole screen
3 - boom, error 11.

Expected result:
Screen sharing works

Reproduces how often:
100%

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Version 1.28.105 Chromium: 92.0.4515.131 (Official Build) (x86_64)
on macOS Big Sur 11.5.1

Additional Information:

  • If I turn hardware acceleration OFF it works.
  • display is 3440x1440. I don’t know if resolution is relevant or not.

It looks like Google Meet doesn’t work so well in Brave for some reason. There is an open Github issue regarding the subject, it will help a lot if you could join the conversation and provide crash ID’s and your workaround.

as I said, disabling hardware acceleration is a workaround, at least in the single try I just did. Will use it more in the next couple of days to able to tell more.
Will add it to the ticket, too.

The only way for this to be fixed is when the Brave Team releases a new update.

There might be a solution, but, I am not really a Brave Helper/Tech Helper, so yeah.
