my first post. please go easy on my question/problem/bug
using the browser on windows 10 and watching YouTube videos.
if I’m done with the video and press the back button on the top left, often times it reloads the same video again instead of going back to the main YouTube page.
this is just at random…some times it works as intended but some times not.
i tried uninstalling/reinstall brave and starting from scratch but the same problem persists.
it’s been going on for MONTHS…and not only on my home PC…even my work PC that i have brave installed on.
has anyone else noticed this behavior while on youtube? any suggestion?
I have exactly the same issue here, using Manjaro Linux, Brave version 1.49.120. I created a new profile without any extensions, the issue remains. Than I installed Chromium with all extensions I used with Brave, and there is no issue.
Just updated to 1.49.128, the problem still remains. To clarify the behaviour: Open youtube from your start page, play a video, press back button in tool bar or on mouse. Instead of showing the youtube overview, the video plays again, no matter if has stopped or not. Press back button again, you are now on your start page, not the youtube overview.
This happens often, but not every time, and it seems to be randomly.
ya it’s been a issue for quite some time…im surprised it hasn’t been addressed yet…with the popularity of YouTube and the amount of users brave currently has it’s defiantly not a single isolated issue…
not sure how else to address it…no extensions are installed to interfere with the browsers operation…it’s defiantly in the code…
I use the CrXMouse gesture extension and I’ve noticed that if I quickly use the gesture to go back, the current page reloads. If I hold the gesture a tad longer before effectively triggering it, it seems to work a little better.
I have watched now several videos on youtube without being logged in. Until now, the issue didn’t occur. Can someone confirm or disprove this? Before that, I always watched videos from my subscription page.
After logging in again to youtube, I watched a lot of videos over some days without having this issue. But than it happened again, with same frequency. It seems that logging out and logging in solves the issue for some time, but not permanently. Very weird.
