Description of the issue:
When going to https://mail.google.com Brave response is extremely sluggish. Opening email, changing folders/labels, composing email all result in large UI delays.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Go to https://mail.google.com
- Use page
-
Expected result:
Normal speed reactions from the UI.
Brave Version( check About Brave
):
Version 1.13.82 Chromium: 85.0.4183.83 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Additional Information:
I read similar threads about this here and tried launching Gmail in a private window. Performance was as expect without sluggishness.
I then deleted all cookies from all time and performance was normal and as expected. However, it rapidly returned to its degraded state.
How quickly does it go from functioning normally to being sluggish?
Roughly a day, no more than 2.
@uumickey,
Do you have any extensions installed in the browser at this time?
I do. I have 8 installed. Is there a debug or something I can dump out to provide more information?
- Reddit Enhancement Suite
- Evernote web clipper
- Keepa
- Infinite Dashboard (start page)
- uBlock Origin
- Imagus
- Improve Youtube
- Nimbus Screenshot
@uumickey,
I would imagine that there are some conflicts with one (or more) of these extensions that may be causing a build up in your browser cache – this would explain why it works in a private session (no extensions, no data/cache) as well as why it performs better after clearing your browsing data.
You might try creating a new profile (Menu ---> Create new profile
) and try using your gmail account on that profile for a day or so (without any extensions installed) and see if you get the same results. I’ll also ping some team members to see if this is a known issue.
Is it possible to run multiple profiles simultaneously?
Regardless, I will try the new profile approach.
@uumickey,
Yes you can run both at the same time without issue. Thanks for your willingness to test – I’ll leave this thread open so you can keep us updated on the results
The problem lies with either the Imagus or the Nimbus Screenshot plugins. Disabling them resolves the problem. Which makes it my problem
Thank you!
