Getting several advertisements in the last few months in Brave [SOLVED]

I’m using the Brave browser for a couple of years now and lately I got a few advertisements popup when I tried to open Brave.

Such as now this Voila AI browser, is this legit or am I infected?
Copilot said that Voila was not made by Brave developers.

Can you please share a screenshot of the advertisement you’re seeing on your end?

I am not sure, it looked legit. But after trying the addon shortly it was a horrible experience. An AI that is not able to help with anything realtime Internet related or show any URL.

It seems to be some kind of Copilot thing but at the same time I feel a bit like how many advertisements is Brave now going to show me.

I think the previoius one was about something in the bitcoin like branch. It pops up before I can even see my own startup page with shortcut tiles.

Normally I use FVD shortcut tiles but now I use Speed Dial 2 and the moment I checked to see it’s name in the menu I saw an advertisement in that menu from Voilà AI so thanks to that process I found the culprit and now -again- I have to search for another free tiles addon so I can click my websites fast :(((

If you’re referring to Brave Ads, these can be disabled by doing the following:

  1. Go to Settings → Brave Rewards
  2. In the Manage Brave Ads section, disable the New tab page ads and Notification ads options

I already figured it out. I like having those tiles where I can choose a website from and all of them seem to be injected with some kind of advertisement in them after putting a lot of work configuring the addons. Such a shame…
