Briefly describe your issue:
When I try to connect my Brave Rewards with my Uphold wallet I receive an error: country mismatch. I did the research and I can confirm that my Rewards country (that I can find inside brave://rewards-internals/) is set to GB and the country on Uphold wallet is set to GB as well. I have 3 different devices and they all show the same error.
I had Uphold connected before (maybe a year ago), then I switched to Gemini and now I try to switch back to Uphold.

yes
Are you using a VPN? (yes/no)
no
Are you in a supported region for list of supported regions)?
yes
Does your device pass the [SafteyNet] check (Android only)?

Is there a way to check it? I really can’t remember. But there is a slight chance that I used my ID card which is not GB. Anyway, as I said it worked like a year ago. Did this “countries security” measurement was implemented in between the specified period?
Yes, choosing your country became a thing just in recent months. I forget which particular version it released on, but been like 2-3 months. It’s all in preparation for the larger changes that all start occurring in February.
In the past, it went by just Locale and IP, not really caring what country you verified with except for the idea of considering your country is supported. But due to a lot of people cheating the system and committing fraud, they have moved it to make it where you have to choose a country for Rewards and the ID verification on custodial partner MUST match said country. You’d be amazed how many were claiming United States and all even though they were in Philippines, India, etc all because they were hoping to be able to get USA ads for increased earnings.
All of that said, Brave has always gone by the ID you verified with to determine which country you’re in. So people who had verified with Indian passport but then moved to England, it still considered them Indian until they got England ID for their account. So yeah, that’s not new. Just idea of you choosing a country for browser is new.
