Mostly when logged into Youtube, Brave willl crash (multiple times a day sometimes) On relaunch all tabs are gone ,leaving only a single, empty private window. Description of the issue:

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Simply by using Brave
    2.Watching Youtube (?)

ExpectedGetting REALLY tedious- I would like this to stop. result:

AdditionalI have uninstalled prev version, intalled latest version of Brave, restart iPad…didn’t do anything. Looking at this forum a lot of people seem to be experiencing this issue Information:

If you are launching the browser and it’s starting in a Private window, then you may very well be using Private browsing only. Can you please launch Brave, go to Settings --> Shields & Privacy --> Private browsing only and ensure that this option is toggled “off”?

Ok I will try that, thanks very much.

Ok just checked tat, it wasn’t enabled. I do not generally use private tabs, I am only presented with a single private window on startup after Brave has crashed- taking all my (not private) tabs with it. On restarting I still get the “restore tabs?” dialogue but when I click “Yes” I get the one empty private tab.

Can you share a screenshot of what you see when you launch the browser on your end?

This is what I see now every time Brave crashes (almost daily) or I close the app myself, which I now try to avoid doing. As mentioned, all tabs gone, unrequested private mode at launch.
This is a MAJOR bug/fault imho, one that I’ve never had before upgrading to latest version (also something I’ve very rarely done). Brave is now unuseable. Can I roll back to a previous version??

@Dave23,
If you tap the Private button on the bottom-right of the screen in your first screenshot, you should exit Private mode. From there, you should be able to close the browser, then relaunch it and no longer be in Private mode – can you confirm whether or not that works?

Yes that works. Brave now reopens as expected. I did not realize I had to close the app when exiting private mode in order for change to be saved.
Thank you.

…Although I’m pretty sure my preferred browser state “private mode off” was always there at relaunch whatever happened.
Now if there could just be a fix for audio from inactive tabs constantly firing off at regular intervals, that would be great.
I’m sure alot of people would like a browser that JUST does browsing, instead of turning into a massive resource hog trying to anything and everything all at the same time- every single browser I’ve used has eventually gone this route.

I am having the same problem. I have made sure that private tabs only is not selected. I keep losing my regular tabs in the “not private browser” & the private browser comes up (empty) when I reopen Brave. Brave will not open in a regular browser window & will not maintain my previous tabs. I have had to manually load my previous tabs - over & over & over - so I’ve switched Browsers until this can get fixed.
