Fingerprinting anonimization not working

Hello,

I tested fingerprinting anonimization yesterday and it does not appear to work. Followed the steps described on this post: https://brave.com/privacy-updates/3-fingerprint-randomization/ and went to https://browserleaks.com/canvas. The data are always the same. Tried everything: not private then private, restarted the browser, used the new fonction shred and even reinstalled the browser altogether. Still getting the same signature.

Am I missing something or fingerprint anonimization is not working?

Using Brave 1.71 (125) on iPhone SE 3 with iOS 18.1.1.

Be Prepared

  • Back up bookmarks (and tabs, as bookmarks)
  • Back up passwords

Try, using Private Browsing Only mode with Settings:

If you are still “getting the same signature,” then possibly, the website already has detected enough of certain characteristics re your computing device (despite Brave’s efforts), such that, the website figures “it’s you, again” and assigns the same signature.
