I was reading about finger printing and how to test for it at How do I turn on Browser Fingerprinting Protection and make sure that it's working?. When I run it using the current Brave release, it seems to fail. Is this a bug? I tried setting brave to block third-party finger prints and all and either way the results not match what is documented and the validator says my finger print is unique.
@mbierman,
What did you use to test these settings?
The pages described in the link How do I turn on Browser Fingerprinting Protection and make sure that it's working?
@mbierman that documentation is a bit old. There’s an issue logged to update this documentation https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/2473
FYI https://amiunique.org/fp also says I can be tracked…
https://browserleaks.com/canvas seems says
Uniqueness 99.998% (9 of 448732 user agents have the same signature)
My post earlier today about a website recognizing me even with (afaik) full precautions active.
