Fingerprinting and font blocking?

Hello!

For the past month or so, Brave Shield has been blocking Google Fonts when standard fingerprint blocking is enabled. I tried looking it up and it appears that it should only happen when strict blocking is on, but mine is set to standard.

I just want to know for sure that this was an intentional change because many chunks of a lot of websites are pretty illegible to me now. However I’ll keep Google Fonts blocked if there’s a good reason for Brave to block it to begin with.

I’m using Brave v1.39.122 on Windows 11.

Go to Brave Browser > Settings > Shields

DISABLE: ‘Prevent sites from fingerprinting me based upon my language . . .’
