Email link does not work properly

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Click on an email address in browser page

**Expected result: Brave should open my Gmail or a Gmail compose window. Instead it shows a popup asking me to open Google Chrome, when I do that it just shows a blank browser page in Chrome.

**Brave Version( check About Brave): Brave is up to date


Version 1.71.123 Chromium: 130.0.6723.116 (Official Build) (64-bit)

**Additional Information: Windows 10 Home, Dell Latitude 5500 laptop.
