DuckDuckGo Searches from Brave dropped but Google works OK

Description of the issue:
When DuckDuckGo is set as search engine all attempts to search are dropped by DuckDuckGo. When Google is set as search engine all searches proceed as normal.
Started this morning

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
Try to search with DDG as default search engine

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

This site can’t be reached

duckduckgo.com unexpectedly closed the connection.

Try:

ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED
Expected result:
normal DDG search as happened before today. Had to switch search engine to Google.
Reproduces how often:
always
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Arch Linux https://brave.com/latest/ Version 1.21.77 Chromium: 89.0.4389.90 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Additional Information:

Hello @grgiii

first check that duckduckgo.com is reachable from your browser

if it working fine then go to brave://settings/searchEngines and click on the 3 dots next to duckduckgo and check the url

is it

https://duckduckgo.com/?q=%s&t=brave

or something else

DDG does not work from Brave at all. I even put in the searchengine url and it does not work at all. I can get to DDG from Firefox.

From Brave, I keep getting:

This site can’t be reached

duckduckgo.com unexpectedly closed the connection.

did you tried to restart your device and try again?

did you tried to visit the site using the private mode after the restart ?

DDG works in private mode only

try to disable all extension and try again in normal mode if it work fine then the issue with one of your issue enable them back one by one till you get the one that cause the issue

if did not work then try to clear the cache/cookies
