Downloads notification randomly pops up all the time

  1. Download a file
  2. See completion notification.
  3. Close notification popup.
  4. Do nothing else and wait some time.
  5. Download notification popup is shown again.
  6. This goes on forever every X amount of time until I close brave browser. Usually every 1-2 minutes but can be more frequent.

**Expected result: Notification should be shown only once.

@vaskats,
Can you please tell me what version of Windows you’re using?

Additionally, in your fourth step, you say “do nothing else” — can you actually do nothing and the dropdown will appear? Or when this occurs are you still browsing?

To be clear, if you download a file and once it’s complete, let go of the mouse and keyboard and just wait, the dropdown will appear again?

@Mattches My windows version is: Windows 10 Pro for workstations, Version 22H2

Yes I just leave the laptop idle…I do absolutely nothing and the downloads notification panel just appears out of nowhere as if a download just finished and it’s letting me know about it. And it keeps doing that indefinitely with a period of a few minutes between each time. Eventually I have to close the browser completely and reopen it to make it stop.

Thank you for the information.

Can you please try creating a new test profile (ensure you close any other profile windows you have open other than the newly created one), download a file and see if you get the same result in the new profile?
