Downloads are extremely slow

I have an issue where whenever I download a file it downloads really slowly. And not just a little difference, but extremely slowly compared to other browsers. The last file I wanted to download via Brave was 2GB in size, and I have really fast internet. On Brave it downloads at roughly 1.5Mb/s, but stutters, so it will download for a bit, then just freeze periodically; compare that to Firefox downloading the same file from the exact same source and I’m getting over 3Mb/s and it’s consistent.

I like Brave because of the ad blocking, and it seems less resource intensive than Firefox, but the download issue is a real problem for me; so much so that it will be a deal breaker if I can’t find a resolution

It happens every time I try to download a file.

Brave 1.8.96 built on Chromium 81.0.4044.138 (64-bit), running on Windows 10 OS build 18363.778

I see the same issue that Brave is very slow to download. I am downloading an ISO image of Ubunutu. Brave browser said is going to take 4 hours. So I tried Firefox and it said and did download it in less then 22 minutes. I am run Win10 and Brave Version 1.8.96 Chromium: 81.0.4044.138 (Official Build) (64-bit).

I have downloaded small files and it seemed to do OK,
