DOM Distiller Reading Mode Extension loading

Description of the issue:
When activating the extension on a page, the page goes into a blank eternal loading. On the console i get the following message:

Uncaught DOMException: Failed to read the ‘localStorage’ property from ‘Window’: Access is denied for this document.
at chrome-extension://oiembdaoobijmdmeobkalaehgifealpl/viewer.js:12:clock1030:

The extension does work with the Brave Shields turned off.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Install “DOM distiller reading mode”
  2. Go to a page
  3. Press the extension icon

Expected result:
Page should be loaded in read mode.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
1.0.0 Chromium: 78.0.3904.97 (64 bits)

Additional Information:
I’m using this extension because i wasn’t able to find a way to change the color/theme of the native distiller. So, if there’s a way i can change that, i won’t need this extension.
