Doesn't relaunching Brave auto-update to the current version?

I relaunched Brave Dev, which was required after choosing the preferences setting to have crash reports automatically sent to Brave team.

Shouldn’t the relaunch have automatically updated to the latest version?

IOW, why am I seeing this?:

Nearly up to date! Relaunch Brave to finish updating.
Version 0.67.72 Chromium: 75.0.3770.38 (Official Build) dev (64-bit)
