Doesn’t save password on htaccess protected site

I tuned on the option to save passwords in the app settings. But brave doesn’t offer to save a password when visiting a site which is protected by htaccess like seen here:

Also when visiting any other page with a „regular“ login, brave asks me to save the password. Just ok htaccess protected site, brave doesn’t.

However, on desktop I don’t have that issue.

Is there any way I can fix that? Maybe manually or is there any other option? Thank you!

I am using iOS 17.4.1 and brave 1.63.2

@thowi this is being worked on. Currently it will save in Brave but Brave doesn’t have access to autofill. This is handled through iOS and Apple has been on gatekeeping things. As Brave currently can’t be selected as autofill on iOS, it means it can’t show the username/password for you to autofill with. You will see if you go to Brave’s SettingsLogins & Passwords that everything is there. It’s just not prompting for you to input, meaning you have to copy/paste or something.

I think they said this hopefully will be landing around 1.65, give or take. We’re currently in 1.63.2 for iOS version of Brave. At one point they suggested it might land here in mid April, which is any day now. On the other side, mentioned perhaps around June. No idea when/if will land.

Hi there and thank you for your feedback. But I‘m sorry to say that this list is empty. No password saved. I turn on the password saving mode and then go to this website, enter user and pass and there is no message regarding password saving. So there is also no entry in your mentioned option setting, as brave doesn‘t ask me to save it and also doesn’t save it itself.

Sor what can I do to get the password into this password list?
