Does Brave use Google services for Safe Browsing?

The default Safe Browsing setting in a new profile sends data to Google. I hope this is via a proxy and the wording is just misleading.

Thanks, I should have thought to read the manual first!

On desktop, the browser does not connect to the server directly; instead, it routes through a Brave-operated proxy server so that Google servers never see your IP addresses.
