Chrome have a Enhanced Safe Browsing Protection, can Brave support it too ? Currently Brave only support Standards Protection.
The reason why Brave supports only standard protection is when enhanced protection is enabled, Google collects URLs of all visited websites. That goes against Brave’s policy of protecting privacy.
But Brave already used proxy to hide IP addresses, why can’t they do that in enhanced protection.
Because, even with proxied IP address, URLs can still contain private info and parts which could be used to identify the user.
Standard browsing protection works in a different way. When browser launches, it downloads a list of known malicious sites. Then it checks if visited domain is present on that list. If it is, only domain is sent to Google in a hashed way, so they won’t know which website you visited exactly. And the website check is done locally on the device.
