Do I still need these extensions in BRAVE Dev?

Does BRAVE (Dev) eliminate the need for any of the following?

(extensions I had used in Chrome)

• Adblock Plus
• WOT (Web of Trust)
• HTTPS Everywhere
• Privacy Badger

All Brave builds come with Shields out of the box. Shields includes protections from:

  • Ads/Trackers
  • Device Fingerprinting
  • Unwanted cookies
  • Scripts
  • Malware
  • Cryptomining
  • And updates you to secure connection (https) whenever possible

With that, WebRTC options, granular script control (and similar control for cookies/ads coming soon) Private Tor Windows, Brave gives you everything you need to browse as privately/safely as you desire.

To answer your question directly, any of the extensions mentioned above - or any other extension that performs these or similar tasks - are not needed for anything. However, its up to you how you’d like to configure your Brave experience to best suit your needs. The idea of offering anonymous/private browsing by default is that you’re protected from the get go and anything you choose to let through/expose (with respect to your data) is opt-in, rather than opt-out.

Tl;dr: Not really, but its your call!!
