I don’t know what this ad is for, and don’t much care. But it keeps showing up on my iOS home page, and it looks like someone who has been brutally skinned alive, and left to bleed to death in a field. I really don’t want to keep seeing this.
@JeffTucker I’m not sure if you’re wanting to leave enabled just to support Brave, but I did want to share you can disable the ads on that page entirely if you go to Brave’s Settings
→ New Tab Page
→ Media Type
→ Default Images
.
Or while on Media Type
you could just turn off Background
entirely and whenever you go to your new tab it will be a blank page, like below:
Unrelated side note
My ads blocked had been over 1 million but I had done a reinstall for someone to test something, which caused me to lose my stats.
Many thanks for that! On the desktop, I know where to look for things, but in the iOS app, I haven’t spent much time digging into the menus.
That being said, whomever is approving the ads should pay a little more attention to what’s being tossed out there.
You know, this is an interesting thought. To my knowledge, they do put a lot of thought to things and have a lot of rules as to what is permissible. Every once in a while there are campaigns that trigger some sets of groups. Such as how companies will include things for Pride Week which is around LGBTQ that people will complain about.
In terms of this one, people have actually been speaking more highly of it in some spots, such as:
I think it’s quite challenging as a lot of people have different tastes. But I will agree that it’s weird that they don’t give us the control over ads like we have on other devices. One would think we could go into the 30 day ads history like on desktop and hit the to things we don’t like so don’t see it.
Well, sure! They’re Zerebro fans, apparently. The mistake is assuming that everyone else is.
