Default Bookmark location unintuitive

Adding a bookmark can really be such a chore. When I click the bookmark button I just want it to add itself to the bookmark bar. I can then either keep it there for quick access, or drag it to my watching / reading / learning folder later. But I then don’t want the next page I highlight to default to the folder I dragged my last bookmark to, I want it to show up on the bookmark bar! I’ve lost so many “watching” pages in my “learning” folder, “reading” pages in my “watching” folder, “business” pages in my “reading” folder. Stop trying to put my bookmarks all in the last folder I dragged them to, and just put 'em on the bookmarks bar by default.

I select “Bookmarks Bar” from the dropdown menu, I expect it to remember “Bookmarks Bar,” and not change that location as I later sort my bookmarks outside of that menu.

I personally prefer bookmarks being saved to the most recent folder as when I’m bookmarking stuff it’s usually in bunches and about similar things, but I might revise your request slightly to:

Have a default “New Bookmarks” save location…
Which we can turn OFF or ON
(because again I personally prefer bunching in the most recent folder)
and then for instance with it ON…
we can create an “Unsorted” Folder (or the Bookmarks bar as OP prefers)
and then we can go back to them when we’re ready and sort them

But good suggestion, I hadn’t really thought of it… the “Unsorted (by default)” thing is what I do in my Reminders App :wink:
