Current Brave release not working on current Fedora Workstation

Description of the issue:
Current Brave release not working on current Fedora Workstation

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Install current Brave version on current Fedora Workstation.
  2. Click on Brave link to start browser.
  3. Observe that no window appears.

Expected result:
A Brave browser window should appear.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Current release.

Additional Information:
Did fresh official download and install of current Fedora Linux 40 (Workstation Edition) with GNOME Verion 46 and Wayland Windowing System. Installed Brave following instructions on Brave website for installation on Fedora and it worked as expected. Did first Fedora update and Brave quit working. Re-installation of Brave did not resolve the problem. Tried Brave flatpack and it works. Tried Brave Beta and it also works. Still unable to get current Brave Release to work on current Fedora Workstation.

Have you tried copying the config directory for Brave Beta into the location for Brave Stable? The path for the stable config is ~/.config/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser, and the one for the beta version will be under the same parent.

You should back up first, because you might be able to restore your existing profile directories into the new config by copy+paste, eg. ~/.config/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/Profile 1

Iā€™m also on Fedora 40 and have no problems running Brave (stable), with both fully updated.

Thank you very much. I just deleted ~/.config/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser and then reinstalled and it seems to have fixed it.
