@mattches Thanks. Is there more than one “Application Support” folder?
I don’t see anything at all for Brave in the one I found. That folder doesn’t appear to be user-based (i.e., it looks to be a top-level hard drive folder).
@mattches Thanks. There’s a “Brave” folder with lots of stuff but nothing with “brave” in the filename.
There’s also a “BraveSoftware” folder that includes what I assume is the last Dev version I used (& haven’t used for a while).
I don’t know why Brave would get confused about that when reloading following a reset – if that’s what happened – since I’ve been sticking with release version as default browser for months.
@mk7z,
Can you share a screenshot of what you’re seeing on your end? Also, is the Brave you’re using right now the stable version or are you still using the Dev build?
@mk7z,
Don’t worry about the screenshot – when I say run the installer, I mean re-run the installer that you used to install Brave initially. You may no longer have it on your machine – in which case, simply go to brave.com/download, download the file and run it.
Running the installer in this way will not overwrite your data, but simply fetch the update files and apply them to the already installed version.
