I would say that Country Flags are so important to implement into the Browser because it’s hard to recognize the Abbreviation of the Country Flag, and it would simplify the life of everyone to recognize the flags easily without complex.
Furthermore, the implementation could be done with the open-source Emojis of Twitter (Name = Twemoji).
