You clear all browser data in the Settings? Or what is it that you do? Could you describe it please.

If you clear browser data in the settings no tab will be closed. Just the cache, cookies, history and website data will be deleted.

Yes. I clear it from my settings. That’s the only place I know to do it.
Previously, doing it clears all:

  1. Browsing history - i.e. all sites visited (open tabs).
  2. Cache
  3. Cookies and sites data
  4. Saved Logins
  5. Downloaded Files.

Exactly as what’s stated as options.

OK, but open tabs will not be closed by clearing data. You have to close them manually.

Not so certain about that. But it does previously.

Sorry, iOS. Don’t know about that. I only use Android devices.

So if we clear private data from settings(ios), will website data also gets cleared?

That’s what it does - according to the »SETTINGS« Pos 3

It has not been fixed yet. The “clear private data” function is not working for ios in my case. Could you help, please?

This is still not fixed. In the past clearing private data closed all tabs and prevented users from going “back” via the back button. This is no longer the case.

The Clear Private Data option doesn’t even log users out of signed-in accounts anymore.

I was able to login to an account (amazon), visit another site by typing it into the address bar, clear private data then press BACK and access the Amazon account and navigate the logged in account.

This is not how it has worked in the past. Why would clearing private data NOT log a user out of all accounts?

I’m having the same problem on my iPad and iPhone. Previously, when you cleared private data, everything cleared, including all tabs. There was comfort in this. Now, all you get is a page refresh and all tabs are still open. Not good. Let’s face it, people want everything cleared after a session. Not just cookies. Everything. Please correct.

Are issues like this even being addressed anymore? I don’t see any indication that anyone is looking into this sort of issue anymore. I see communication about payouts and such, but not posts about what’s broken and needs fixing.

Is this forum the actual bug tracking?

Having read a lot of threads regarding iOS I have come to the conclusion that iOS is not really an OS the Brave devs put a lot of attention to. I wouldn’t be surprised if Brave cancels iOS support all together in the near future.

We have a fix for it that is almost ready, we will try to ship it in either 1.18.1 or 1.19

Sorry for that, our engineer working on it was pulled back to work on iOS sync and this ticket didn’t get high enough priority to be finished in time
