what im concerned about in chromium browsers is that scrolling isnt smooth, after scrolling for a while some tiktok comments, instagram posts, youtube shorts comments or spotify discography the scrolling becomes incredibly laggy. after using middle click scroll to scroll a lot of elements on a webpage it becomes almost unusable. u can scroll on firefox for the same period of time without a change in smoothness but on chromium based it becomes very choppy. i think it actually got fixed on chrome but on brave it still persists, i hope u review this issue
Something is overloaded, and whatever manages the computer display, is paying for that.
Be prepared. Back up your:
- tabs (as bookmarks)
- passwords
- bookmarks
Clear cookies, cache, history, etc.
In a Brave Browser New Window, go to:
brave://settings/clearBrowserData
Select the Advanced tab
Set Time range to “All time”
ENABLE everything except:
- Passwords and other sign-in data
(Myself, I would NOT make that exception)
(because I would have a backup prepared.)
(In other words, be prepared.)
Click on the “Clear data” button
In a Brave Browser New Window, go to:
brave://flags/
Click on the Reset all button.
Quit everything and restart your computer.
Search your Brave Browser Settings, looking for the Hardware Acceleration switch, and disable that.
Disable any extensions that you have added.
Test your issue.
nope its not related to anything u mentioned maybe except image caching, its just how the browser handles it. i got image cache clearing enabled on exit. just find youtube shorts video and start scrolling the comments. then use for about 5s middle click autoscroll then start scrolling again, u will see a difference it will be much more smooth in the beginning. it also applies to tiktok comments or spotify discography etc. (these are examples among many)
i just installed google chrome to make sure its not happening but its happening there aswell, but it never happens in gecko based browsers. the scrolling only remains proper in firefox.
