Description of the issue:
Whenever I download .pdf files (very often for work), Brave Browser will download the file but will not open it. If I click the file in the notification drop-down it will take me to the Brave download list where it says “can’t open file”.
If I open the file from an Android file manager then it opens without issue.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Download a PDF file
- Go to downloads list
- Try to open the PDF file by tapping on it.
Expected result:
The file should open using a native PDF viewer, but it does not.

Additional Information:
I am using a refurbished (factory reset) Note 10+ which is new to me. I’ve never had this problem with Brave in the past. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling without success. Found similar issues on this forum but they were indicated as fixed, so this must be something new.
