Can't close Brave Notification Ad pop up

Description of the issue:

When a Brave Notification Ad pops up in the lower right corner of my screen it has an option to close the ad. Since the most recent update, that is no longer working. The ad eventually goes away on its own (after about a minute or two?), but I would prefer to close it right away as I’ve always been able to do.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. In Ads Settings, have Notification ads turned on (set to receive the Max 10/hr).

  2. Wait for an ad to display in the lower right corner of the screen.

  3. Attempt to close the ad using the close button or the X in the upper right corner. No click is available to close the ad.

Expected result:

Ad should close.

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Brave version: Version 1.76.82 Chromium: 134.0.6998.178 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:

Operating System: Windows 11

@Joeolson I believe that these are system notifications, controlled by the OS. Not sure if it’s a Brave issue or an issue with your Windows system notifications. Can you try triggering a system notification of another kind and test to see if it shows the same behavior?

Just registered to answer this post. I hava the same issue in Linux Mint 21. Had it since july 2024.
