------------------------------------------------------------------------As a previous user described here but was ignored by Brave Support: Can't connect to site with self signed certificate

I have a Netgear router which requires me to visit routerlogin.net in order to access my router’s admin page. However, the site has a self-signed certificate and therefore triggers a warning, which is expected and fine.

However, unlike Firefox and other browsers, which allow me to ““Accept the risk and proceed anyway””, Brave does not. My only options are to either use another browser or to disable https for the web admin interface of the router!

Which option would you choose?

I’m using the latest stable build of Brave and this situation has plagued me as long as I can remember. Judging by the quality of responses to the previous reporter of this bug, I should not expect a fix within my lifetime!

When you see that screen, just type exactly the following characters: thisisunsafe

That will let you through

Just click anywhere on the page of course you cant see the characters as you type, just type them and boom, magic, it lets you through. This is built into Chromium.

I deleted all site data for routerlogin.net and reloaded the site. This is what I see:

I tried typing thisisunsafe as instructed, but nothing happens. Firefox is still able to interact with the site, so it’s definitely up.

I just noticed that it looks like at point when I took the screenshot above, I was already passed the ““Proceed anyway option””. Maybe that was when I typed thisisunsafe? Anyway, if I click the site information icon, it shows like this:

I now have the option to ““Turn on Warnings”” which when I do and refresh the page, looks like this:

Note the proceed anyway option, which wasn’t shown originally. However, clicking that option, just takes me to this:

I hope this clarifies. I really appreciate your help by the way. :slightly_smiling_face:
