Lag on new tab launch

Just downloaded Brave for a spin and it’s been great, with one annoyance. Whenever I open a new tab the explorer bar lags for a while (more than 10 seconds) before whatever I type finally appears. I saw a similar issue was reported in April, and someone suggested then that it was a known bug in an earlier version of Chromium, but Chromium has updated from 73 to 75 and it’s still an issue. you new tab page lags every PC I’ve ever seen it on even OC’d i9s… The fix, third party tab page. works great… my hardware works fine also, not interested in time-wasting troubleshooting. fix your shit.
