Maybe the worst bug ive ever seen on Brave

Description of the issue: Troubles with “Open in New Tab”, lags very horrible when zooming in
How can this issue be reproduced?:

  1. Select any image, right-click on it, and select “Open in New Tab”
    2.Zoom in by clicking with your mouse
    3.Zoom in by holding Ctrl and moving mouse wheel

The system will lag and crash everything (I even witnessed how almost my desktop crashed) until you close the New Tab with the image

Brave Version: Version 1.32.113 Chromium: 96.0.4664.45 (Oficial build) (64 bits)

I think this might be a very dangerous bug, and i recommend not to reproduce it if you dont have a strong PC. I dont think this has a solution, the devs must fix it.

Thanks for reporting this. I’m not able to reproduce the issue on my system (Windows 10) though.

What version of Windows are you on?

Do you have any extensions installed/enabled? If so, does it still happen with them all disabled?

Does the issue occur in a Private window?

Does the issue occur if you create a new profile and try it in that profile?

Is anything set in brave://flags ? (Anything with a non-default setting will be sorted to the top, and will have a blue dot next to it.)

Is Hardware Acceleration enabled in Settings? (“Use hardware acceleration when available”)

Im on Windows 10, and i dont have extensions that use “sub-process”. The issue occurs on a New Tab, on a Private Tab, but i havent tested it on the Tor Private Tab. The issue also occurs on every profile. There is nothing on brave://flags. And Hardware Acceleration is enabled.

@Us_25,
Can you try disabling Hardware Acceleration and tell me if the same issue occurs?

It only gets worst. Apparently its a PC problem, because Brave uses a lot of CPU, RAM, etc. Especially in potato PCs
