Just installed Brave but have found a couple of annoying issues. I have looked for remedies but not found any.
When launching Brave on Mac the window is only half size! is there a setting to launch in full screen mode? also I cannot see a homepage button, is there one? By thisI mean the page Brave opens when it is launched.

Welcome! We’re glad have you on the team 
Brave should remember the window size you were last using for each session and launch new windows at that size – definitely on macOS. If you resize the window manually, it should open at that size upon relaunch.
In Brave, navigate Menu --> Settings --> Get Started --> On Startup and select the Open a specific set of pages option.
Menu --> Settings --> Appearance --> Show home button

The home button is now set as you described and works great.
The screen will only launch in half size mode despite manually "bigging " it up prior to closing
