Browser doing some funky sh** with flashing yellow screen and distorted svgs

I woke up this morning to find SVGs being distorted on multiple websites. They look perfectly normal on Chrome. Also more worryingly, my screen turned into a yellow and green flashing light show on multiple sites including Amazon and Youtube. See video links below for evidence. Some shady s**t going on with Brave browser in recent weeks. Until these major issues are fixed, I’m dumping it for Chrome.

@jonosmithies Need you to test a couple things and provide more details:

First off, what you didn’t share:

  • What version of Brave are you using? (Tell the exact version number, don’t just say “latest.”

  • Which Mac OS are you using?

You also didn’t share if you tried any troubleshooting. For example, I see you have extensions installed. Did you make sure to test in private window, create a new browser profile, or even to just disable or remove your extensions to make sure none of them are creating the issue?

How about hardware acceleration? Notice any difference there?

I believe this looks like typical HWA nonsense — as @Saoiray suggests, please try disabling it in Settings --> System --> Hardware Acceleration and see if the issue is resolved.
