Browser crashing after being opened after 10-30 seconds every time it is launched

Description of the issue:
Brave continuously crashing around 10-30 seconds after opening regardless of which website is open.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
Step 1. Open Browser
Step 2. Wait 10-30 seconds

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
Browser instantly closes and disappears from task manager without a crash / error message, regardless of which web page it was on before the crash

Expected result:
Brave should continuously stay open

Reproduces how often:
Every single time the browser is open. I wrote this in a notepad because I couldn’t write fast enough.

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Windows 10 build 1903 64 bit
Brave Version 0.68.138 Chromium: 77.0.3865.75 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:
I have a theory it could be my browser extensions, however I don’t have many installed.
Is there a dump / error log I can submit?

Same here, on my laptop.

Yesterday i updated to Windows 10 build 18362.356 and now Brave crashes randomly within 1 minute it has been open.

Sames here. Started this morning. Browser closes about 30 seconds after opening.

No errors. & no event log entries.

Same here, but no crash
Brave is only not reponding and I’m forced to crash it.

When I reopen it the same happens

It works perfectly before, but doesn’t respond anymore this morning since the last update : Brave Version 0.68.138 Chromium: 77.0.3865.75

Disabling synchronization has worked for me, if it helps

same here win 10. It just crashes and yes I have it set to run as administrator.

Just removed sync settings and it works fine now.

Same problem here, started this morning.

Windows 10 Pro, Version 1903, Build 18362.356
Brave Version 0.68.138 Chromium: 77.0.3865.75 (Official Build) (64-bit)

I was running two extentions (“Save to Pocket” and “LastPass: Free Password Manager”) – disabling both did not solve the problem.

Tried disabling sync as @zorro103 and @casperz suggested and that worked–no more crashes! So that sounds like a clue.

Yes I can also confirm that removing sync stops the crashing. Just toggling the Bookmarks sync settings button to off was all I had to do.

For anyone here experiencing this issue, we’d appreciate your help in diagnosing this issue. If you could please send us your crash reports by going to brave://crashes and:

  • If you don’t have automatic crash reporting enabled, click the Send now button underneath each crash report captured. Then, return to this thread and post your crash report ID so that we can asses this on our end.
  • If you have automatic crash reporting enabled, then we just need the ID from you

Piling on with the others, I can confirm disabling Sync (e.g. clicking the toggle for Bookmarks in my sync chain) has resolved the issue for me.

Have also sent crash reports.

I have 9 reports I could upload but I think the proxy server the machine uses is not allowing it to happen as they are all sitting there as “not yet uploaded”. None of my other installs had the same issue. FYI, this is on a Windows 2016 server, so it’s not just desktop Windows.

Update, they were being slow

You have to restart your browser to get them to upload, according to another thread I read earlier.

Same I don’t even have any syncs and I keep on crashing why?
It’s really hard to use the browser cuz It keeps on crashing
I recentley updated windows and then it started happening.
