browser crashes unexpectedly

Hi Brave community,

I’ve been using Brave for a while now and I’ve been really happy with it. However, I’ve recently been having an issue where the browser crashes unexpectedly when I visit certain websites, like YouTube.

I’ve tried a few things to fix the issue, such as clearing my cache and cookies, disabling extensions, and updating Brave to the latest version, but nothing has worked so far.

I’m hoping someone in the community might be able to help me out. I’ve attached a crash report in case that’s helpful.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Chances are this is related to one of the component updates. See this post:

And if that doesn’t fix the issue, see this post:

I’ve also been experiencing this issue when visiting youtube and a few other video sites under Fedora Linux for around 5 days now, with everything being up-to-date. After trying all the usual temporary fixes (clearing cache + cookies, disabling shields, updating components etc…), I did some digging and came across a comment on a related GitHub issue: https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/37341#issuecomment-2048166141 This completely resolved the issue for me. Simply go to brave://flags and disable brave-ai-chat.

I just wanted to add that I have also had terrible resolve with great carryover with YouTube interactions. I’ve used Brave since 2019. The issue has surpassed any time saved over a five(5) year span, as generated on my new tab pages, in a mere couple of months in Souls-like fashion.
