Brave Widevine/DRM and Privicay

Hello everyone

I’ve been reading about DRM and it’s definitely quite a complex world. I understood (I think) how it works in general, however the info about how it’s implemented on Brave isn’t clear enough for my taste, so a I have couple of questions:

  1. License Server - Each time we try to watch a DRM protected video. the CDM make a request to some License Server which replies with the decryption key of said video. Whose server is that? Does it change per provider? Does this server receive anything that can compromise my account on the service in order to validate my session?
  2. Is there any 3rd party (3PL) company, except Google, which receives my data in case I opt-in to Widevine?
