@Saoiray sorry again for tagging, but here’s also this issue…
@pilis 289wk already tagged someone from Brave.
Just quick reminder I don’t work for Brave and am just another user. That said, my personal thoughts and experiences is that what you’re showing here is…I don’t know the best word(s). I’m wanting to say too petty and niche, but that comes across more harsh or dismissive than intended.
But very small cosmetic things that don’t break anything usually ends up with a lower priority. It’s not something I am wanting to spend a lot of time trying to replicate either. For now I’d say just wait for Mattches to get in and catch up on things. He may have some good suggestions or at least might relay it to some of the devs.
Just an FYI
If it’s something they can replicate and seems simple enough, they may be able to fix. Otherwise likely will end up as a wontfix or at least be incredibly low priority where they might work on it if ever have extra time, but would have bigger focus on more severe issues or on adding new features.
Extra Addendum:
Just was reviewing the video once more before I finish this reply. Just to point out to Mattches and maybe help you explain, I’d say to look at the very bottom of the video. The wiggle seems to be there. But I’m not sure if that’s the browser or if it’s just your OS from it doing something with the show/hide taskbar. But really, it’s small enough that it can be difficult to notice if a person doesn’t know where to look. Easiest to see if look at the down arrow on the scrollbar.
If I turn off hardware acceleration, the issue is fixed, that jiggling glitch no longer appears.
Sadly turning that setting off also makes the browser lag really badly.
@pilis I’ve forwarded this information to the team for review. Testing on my end, I do not see this issue in Windows 10 but it may be specific to Win11.
Just to confirm, after updating to the latest build (v1.77.97) you’re still seeing this issue? Additionally, have we confirmed that this issue is not related to an extension you have installed in the browser?
Thanks for answering.
Yes, I’m on the latest version and it’s still there. And also the installation is clean, no other addons are installed or stuff imported from other browsers.
Made two more recordings showcasing the problem, and the camera stays still now, it should be more visible, hopefully:
You can notice that jiggling/shaking or whatever you call it while I move the mouse, especially on the home page.
Also, I noticed that Brave uses my dedicated GPU after opening it.
That is because you have Graphics Acceleration
enabled. Hope to have more information soon, appreciate your patience.
I really wanna be a Brave user too, especially after Chrome decided to stop supporting uBO, but sadly this bug keeps me away from using it, at the moment, because of how annoying it is.
There is also the bug with the audio no longer being synced with the video on some sites, but it seems that it’s more of a Chromium issue.
When you’ll get some more info from your team, please also let us know in this topic ^^
Little update: I also tried using Brave Beta and Brave Nightly and the issue is there on both versions.
Is it normal only for Brave to use the GPU while the setting is enabled? Opera and Chrome don’t use it.
Also, I see this issue happens even if Brave is not fully maximized.
You can see a recording here:

HUGE UPDATE:
Now this issue occurs even with the taskbar no longer auto-hiding, a.k.a. turning that setting off.. (I also updated the topic title)

Maybe if it helps, here are my GPU specifications:

@Mattches I also opened a support ticket on Nvidia but they told me that this is clearly a Brave issue because I have this problem with this browser only, and not with other browsers.
Thank you for the information. I will update the team on this and ping them again internally to try and see what else might be causing the issue. Appreciate your patience.
I also opened this issue on Github and I included my system and GPU information.
@Mattches any update on this? I know it’s been not too much time, but after updating to 1.77.100 the issue is still here.
No updates, but opening the issue on Github is a great next step to have taken. I’ve just pinged the team internally again.
@fanboynz as you suggested on GitHub, I tried with version 566.36 of the NVIDIA drivers but sadly this doesn’t help.
@Mattches
@Mattches any update on this issue?
