Brave Tor Browser prompting "No Internet" page despite being connected

Anytime I open the tor browser and search anything, I get the following prompt and can’t open any sites: ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED

  1. Open Tor browser
  2. Search anything
  3. Receive no internet page
  4. Tested private window and regular browser, sites loading just fine

Reproduces every attempt.

MacOSX High Sierra 10.13.6

Hi, I think it’s Brave global problem. I cant use Tor too cuz i got same error

Same issue here. It was working properly prior to the last update.

Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6
Brave: [Version 1.2.43 Chromium: 79.0.3945.130 (Official Build) (64-bit)]

I have checked the proxies for this machine and there are none in use.
Regular pages load normally, only TOR pages are effected.

Same issue on my end. After some time browsing with Tor, I got the same error, while when browsing in private or normal mode there is no proxy error.

I have exactly the same issue, started today after over a year of no problem at all using the TOR window. It would be helpful if someone from BRAVE responded as clearly this is an ongoing and increasingly widespread issue.

There are too many of these forums provided by software developers who never seem to read them. Is it just a way of letting us vent our frustrations while they ignore us? Microsoft answers always seem to be offered by other users, for example.

Same problem. Running Mac OS X High Sierra, 10.13.6.

Brave: [Version 1.3.118 Chromium: 80.0.3987.116 (Official Build) (64-bit)]

Encountered this issue today. I believe there is an issue with Brave connecting to the Tor Network.

If I open Tor and let it connect then leave my Tor window open Brave with Tor works properly. This defeats the purpose of Brave with Tor but points to where the issue lies.

I have the same problem (no internet on Brave Tor, but works otherwise) on a laptop I’ve been using for sometime, but a new one just bought, I downloaded Brave and there was Tor connected to the Internet on the new laptop.
That would suggest some other issue.
I’m no expert, but could it be the ISP blocking it?

It’s definitely not my ISP as - bizarrely - I can connect using the TOR browser on my PC, but not on my MAC laptop. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Brave, no difference. What’s weird about my PC version is that it too stopped working exactly the same time as my laptop, but then it started working again, for absolutely no apparent reason, so I am completely baffled by this.

As I said in my previous post, it would be sincerely appreciated if someone from Brave actually replied to this thread.
