Brave Taskbar -> Ground tabs, Please Innovate the card with Preview option & add more shortcuts with smooth animations, Watch the video for clarity

Note: while i recorded this video, there have been several things running in the background, specifically extensions and multiple videos were playing in HD in other tabs behind the yt app window at the same time in mute mode so there will be some issues with audio and also video might slightly buffer for 3 or 4 seconds…other than that, everything will be normal…

The Gif of the video alone would give you a little clue about what i ask,-> Instead of stacking several tabs as a list on the left side of the browser for each individual site,->> if there is a site named yt and several “links” of that site is opened as new tabs,->>> Do not stack them as list in vertical tabs as doing so will result in vertical tabs list becoming longer,->>>> so what could be rather done is introducing a new feature which can be called as “use Ground tabs” or Brave Taskbar…

Just imagine it in a way where the brave browser’s bottom area is new taskbar which is similar to windows taskbar and usually we used to “pin” items in taskbar in windows so it feels like they get sticked to the taskbar… Similarly, all of the new websites tabs which a user opens,->> those websites logo shall/will get sticked to the Brave taskbar temporarily until “all of the tab links of that specific site is closed”…

If the user has got only like 7 to 8 tabs of a specific website and if the user hovers the mouse pointer over the website logo, show card with preview and if they exceed the limit, change it to list mode-> 7 to 8 tabs necessarily may not need to be the limit, you can set the limit as per the user’s “screen display” size…

For Example see here,

in the above image, while i hovered the mouse pointer over the yt app icon, 13 card with preview is shown but according to my screen size, windows allows upto 14 → once windows detects i have reached the limit, it automatically changes every new tab window into “list mode”

you can also follow the same procedure for Brave taskbar/ground tabs…

Just imagine what you see in the above image taskbar’s pinned softwares as if they are websites logos and amongst all of them, i am showing you the example of youtube.comm as it is containing the youtube logo, i hope you can relate what i say…

What if user opens way too many websites ?

you can introduce a mini scrollbar for taskbar…

Adding clarity…

My default screen size with all of the softwares pinned to taskbar

I purposefully reduced the desktop size by opening calculator separately

some of the taskbar pinned items which are placed on the far right seems to be hidden, but they are not, you can bring them back using mini scroll bar

see here,

zoomed view

I strongly believe doing this will improve Browser’s immersion… And even for the brave taskbar’s temporarily pinned website logos, add the ability to animate them with smoothly integerating the card with preview features.

i have Nu8000 55 but i am not willing to capture a video just for a 3 seconds , so please watch the video at 02:57… i specifically stay in this 2018 model due to the tizen os older version and its theme…it was/is truly beautiful… Samsung has now ruined that tizen os uniqueness and specialness by making the smarthub to be more like android tv os… i like how we can switch to other apps without leaving the current app on older tizen os… samsung has removed this ability on newer os versions which i call it as downgrade…

Not just this, but also the remote designs aswell…older ones looked very sexy and so cool…

Remote of 2018 model

Remote of 2023 model… Massive downgrade…

bloating the remote with ott apps :disappointed_relieved:
Also just by looking at the image, i can say build quality isnt good and buttons also isnt looking premium… worried about future TVs, i mean the OS designs and remote designs…i know picture quality will get improved but software/remote is also important…

Although this topic might look off -topic, the reason why i said this is because if something is already good, dont feel the need to change it because nobody is going to give a reward for scrapping the old one which people loved and replacing it with newer ones just because everyone else is doing it… i mean why would you remove the download bar at bottom ? It was beautiful, please restore it by adding that flag again…

In the above images, you could see hitomi downloader icon in taskbar is in different color, similarly, if a tab is in sleep mode, you could color that website logo icon in brave taskbar so user will know that tab is sleeping…

Additionally, if a user has opened only 1 tab of a specific site and its been a while since the user has accessed it, you can color the icon to be in full green indicating that specific website has been put into sleep mode…

However, if a user has opened 20+ tabs and only seem to accessing 6 tabs of a specific site and 14 of the other tabs continues to remain inactive, you could color that website logo in brave taskbar in blue color, indicating the user that partial tabs of that specific website has been put into sleep mode.

I just tried to perform the same on win 11 and in latest version of brave and it seems like you cannot achieve this in windows 11 which also shows win 11 is more sort of downgrade

watch the video…

*the ending wasn’t intentional, its loom abruptly ended the session…

there might be some lag while previewing in taskbar because the os wasn’t optimized at the time of recording,…also i have noticed that tiny lag appears only while i was recording on loom…it doesn’t lag while i am not performing any screen recording…

im still working on finding ways to optimize it, so far i have managed to bring down the windows processes to keep it under 27…

i am trying to see if i can reduce the background processes even further… As you can see from the above video, ->The entire windows 11 is controlled and powered via windows 8.1 host, the youtube app performance which you see feels like host os… Please also note that the tiny taskbar lag happens only during recording… and i have to make another test video to see how it performs after optimizations have been done…

OS : Windows 11 Supernova, Its a modified version of Windows X lite Micro 11 23 h2, by default this Micro 11 build has 38 windows process running… Supernova has reduced to 27 and tries to keep it static.

Zoomed view, this is not final, i will also work on reducing those background processes count…

Worked Together with Bard to create Windows Processes Doctor which greatly helps to bring down the processes count… i am still testing it

Watch the video of Supernova Booting, animations of Windows Processes Doctor and YT playback performance after optimization have been done by WPD.

4k Playback Performance on Virtual Machine

I am currently planning to Place a custom shortcut with Brave Nightly logo for Supernova on taskbar

Reason is because i dont use nightly currently on win 8.1 and the windows 11 logo placed on taskbar of win 8.1 doesn’t look nice and i dont wanted 2 windows logo to be placed on the taskbar of win 8.1 so i planned to use brave nightly logo as i will be using vm mostly for brave browser use…

I have Already done this, so now, → clicking on Brave Nightly logo will launch Supernova, i am also thinking about using shell:startup to launch brave so everything will be ready to use and win 11 supernova will end up feeling like its just another app on win 8.1

instead of placing/using brave.exe on shell:startup, i am thinking about a creating an independent batch file which will help in ending up to launch both windows processes doctor and after a defined timeout period launch brave.exe using the start command on batch file… Ideally, Now, when this new batch file while placed on shell:startup…it will end up doing exactly what i wanted…

The problem for me as of now is that windows 11 keeps changing some specific service names during every startup of a session…i am finding ways to either stop it or make the batch file automatically detect the change and update the operation accordingly…i will post updates while i succeed at this… current scenario is not bad by doing little bit of manual work, but it would be nice to automate everything…

the Specific problematic services are

“Clipboard user service_1cd51”
“DevicesFlow_1cd51”
“Udk User Service_1cd51”
“connected devices Platform User Service_1cd51”
“Windows Push Notifications User service_1cd51”
“NPSMSvc_1cd51”

for example 1cd51 gets changed to 1cbed during next session…how shall i stop this behavior ?.. these services are not needed for the vm use case. If you know the answer to stop this behavior, kindly let me know… i am unable to set the service to manual specifically for the above mentioned services because win11 says The Parameter is incorrect.

I wanted to speedup the process of learning to get this done because of the extensions support as some extensions started to show warning

the important extensions are browser VPNs as older versions of session buddy will just continue to work fine… while Browser VPNs just work fine for the moment, the behavior cant be guaranteed for the future, so i want to be prepared earlier and wanted to close the bridge of gap between win 8.1 and win 11 vm environment and make the performance and acceleration feel like the entire win 11 thing feeling like its just another app belonging to win 8.1… I will post updates as scenario improves and will later post guides for Brave Browser Architecture cloning alongside with Win 11 VM full setup walkthrough, Both will be posted on a new thread.

Done, Mission Accomplished.

And in Stopwatch test, Windows 11 Supernova OS scores 83.76 seconds

This includes the timeframe of Supernova Boot time, performing optimizations of bringing processes to WP22 and BP5 and Launching Brave Browser. Everything Now being Fully Automated.

Watch the video of stopwatch test

As i said, i would be clicking the Brave Nightly logo which will end up launching Supernova OS and Automatically Start performing optimizations of bringing processes to WP22 and BP5 and Launching Brave Browser automatically.

Also, while attempting to do this, I have managed to reduces the processes down even further

Windows 8.1 stays with windows processes count as low as 19.

If Discourse is unable to play the last video

You can stream it here

or check the new test if you want to stream it here, this is recently recorded stopwatch test after i encountered the discourse error…

In this test, stopwatch score is 83.52 seconds.

*ending wasn’t intentional

I hope discourse video hosting improves in future.

while i hope you will work on introducing something similar to this request for superior tab management where it effectively saves more time → As a first step, consider removing that vertical line between the vertical tabs and sidebar, its breaking the immersion… i wanted to make a detailed post about this issue but i am stuck with other works…
