Brave Sync replaced all of my bookmarks!

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. I added my work PC to a sync chain with my personal laptop and phone. I made sure to turn off the bookmark sync option so that it didn’t sync my bookmarks but just my open tabs and history.

Expected result:

Sync the selected items and leave my bookmarks alone.

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Version 1.22.71 Chromium: 89.0.4389.114 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:

I REALLY need some help here. I lost incredibly important links that I don’t know how to retrieve. I haven’t uninstalled or touched anything since I logged on and noticed my bookmarks were gone. I hope there is some way to recover them in my files.
