Description of the issue - Duplicate Tabs Showing up when i Press alt + tab. When I Close The Original Window and Brave the Tabs are Still in the List while not being shown up in the Task Manager
How can this issue be reproduced?
1.I Opened Youtube FullScreen
2.Changed Tabs and got the issue
Additional Information: The Issue Started Very Recently Specifically after i Installed OBS Studio but after deleting it the Issue still seems to persist
This same issue is happening with me since 4 months, no update seems to fix it rather it be brave, or windows update, and the restarting explorer is just a temporary fix to make the duplicate browser copies on alt + tab disappear for that time, restarting explorer doesnt prevent from this bug being reproduced again, and For this matter of fact i hate the brave support team, they dont reply, they have made this community posting intentionally bad that after 60 days of no replies the community post gets locked i.e no further replies, they just dont want to fix this, i mean why make the community post not able to receive any more replies after 60 days, whats bothering u let people reach out, and pls utmost callout to the brave support team, fix your god damn browser for gods sake.
Yeah so it would be helpful is if anyone here can provide some useful information about this but so that I can add to the Github issue I opened:
Information like:
What Browser version are you using when you see this occur?
Does resetting Windows explorer resolve the issue every time?
Does the issue only occur in Brave or do other apps or browsers (Chromium browsers specifically) also show this behavior?
Can anyone provide the exact steps to reproduce the issue? I am unable to do so on my end.
Further this does appear to be a Chromium + Windows issue – not a Brave specific issue caused by anything we changed or implemented. There are reports of this behavior from other users on Chrome/other browsers – some of them from over a year ago:
Could it be the new multitasking option (Show tabs from apps when snapping or pressing Alt-Tab) in Windows 11 where you can display recent tabs. 20 most recent tabs, 5 most recent tabs, 3 most recent tabs (default) and don’t show tabs?
The restart explorer psuedo fix probably just temorarily clears the polled recent tab data for a time.
I’m not on Windows 11 to check but the options are in Settings/Multitasking.
