I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out to report an issue I’ve encountered while using the Brave browser on Windows 11, which I believe could help improve the overall user experience of this excellent browser.
Problem Description
When watching a YouTube video in full-screen mode, I’ve noticed that the Alt+Tab functionality does not work as expected. Instead of displaying thumbnails of open application windows, I see empty rectangles. Occasionally, multiple instances of Brave appear in the Alt+Tab menu, even though I only have one browser window open.
Steps to Reproduce
Open Brave (Version 1.76.81).
Navigate to YouTube and play a video in full-screen mode.
Press Alt+Tab to switch between open windows.
Expected Behavior
I expect to see thumbnail previews of all open application windows in the Alt+Tab interface.
Actual Behavior
Empty rectangles appear instead of window previews, and sometimes duplicate Brave entries show up in the Alt+Tab list despite having only one active window.
Technical Details
Brave Version: 1.76.81 (Chromium-based, build 134.0.6998.178)
Operating System: Windows 11 (Version 22H2)
Additional Notes
This issue occurs frequently, especially when switching between windows quickly while a video is in full-screen mode.
I’ve tried troubleshooting by disabling hardware acceleration, updating both Brave and Windows to the latest versions, and checking for problematic extensions, but the issue persists.
I’ve attached a screenshot to this email that illustrates the problem for your reference.
