Brave rewards suddenly not supported

i am in turkey and i am suddenly unable to access gemini connection with brave so i cant get my rewards until a week ago or so i could access it now it says brave rewards arent supported in turkey but in the link brave gives its shown as supported does anybody knows why or how i can fix it?

Same for me. It seems they decrease the number of supported countries

You’re seeing different things. Let me explain really quick.

Brave Rewards, where it shows ads and lets you earn BAT, has its own set of supported countries. It is the largest list. You can view it here

Then there’s the partnership agreements between Gemini and Uphold that is done with Brave. This determines who is able to connect Brave to those exchanges to receive BAT and convert it to other currencies. This always changes. Lately they have narrowed this support down to 19 countries. You can see those for Uphold and Gemini

Then Gemini and Uphold have their own list of supported countries. They accept countries and let you trade many places. You can have accounts with Gemini or Uphold and use them to send, receive, or convert cryptocurrency regardless of what happens with Brave. You have to check their sites to see what limitations they have. You can see their lists on their websites.

Uphold does not detail supported regions, but rather they support anyone except those on their unsupported region/non-supported jurisdiction list.

Gemini’s supported regions can be seen on the site, which I just linked.

These differences sometimes confuse people. Anyway, right now, Turkey is one of the places that isn’t supported between Brave and the exchanges. Nobody knows how long until it changes. In the meanwhile, you can still view ads and earn BAT. You just won’t be able to remove that BAT from your browser.

ahh i looked at both the lists u gave both has listed turkey as suported both supports its

No they don’t.

Turkey is NOT on the list.

It may be listed in the future, but Turkey hasn’t been available since April.

It is very important you take time to read things in detail. Don’t rush it and make assumptions.

https://brave.com/transparency/, https://www.gemini.com/areas-of-availability i looked at these and as u put it and they both show it the notice wasnt anywhere there

Ah, where you missed were the links in the paragraph below:

Each paragraph described different places to look for what regions they support. The two you linked were for Rewards in general and Gemini’s limitations for their own site. The paragraph you missed on clicking covered which countries can link Brave to Uphold and Gemini, which is the list I showed in the screenshot in my comment above.

That’s where the confusion comes in. Too many links and types of support

@baerafel To be honest, this post probably was more confusing than it should have been. It’s hard to try to link and summarize things for people. I’ve been in the habit of clicking any links people put in chat and expect/assume others will do the same with what I write. This is because their text and links are part of the problem or solution, all of which is important to know.

I have provided a better Topic on it, though it still has many links to click on to learn more. But I think I did a better job of just summarizing things there to an extent. You can check PSA: Unsupported Region which is where I’m trying to put any updates we are given about any changes in regional support.
