Description of the issue:
Hello, I just switched to Brave and I absolutely love it, but I currently found one major problem that would greatly impact my daily use.
The storage limit for extensions is way too low. I absolutely need to use an extension called Yomitan, it is a mouseover pop up dictionary and it needs to store dictionaries locally. The problem is that extensions on Brave can only use 2.1 gb of storage at most, and my dictionaries database is about 3 gb.
On other chromium browsers the limit is always more than 100 gb.
Is there a way to manually adjust this limit ?
Really this is the only gripe I have with Brave, Yomitan is a really important extension for me, and I can’t use a browser without it.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Use an extension that needs to store data locally that is above 2.1 gb.
Expected result:
On other chromium browser or on Firefox the extension storage limit is well above 100 gb, instead of only 2.1 gb for Brave.
Brave Version( check About Brave
):
v1.75.181
Additional Information:
It would be good to have a way to manually toggle the storage limit for extensions, not increase it by default for everyone per see, but on a use case basis, being able to change it if we need.
Thanks again for this great browser, the Ublock origin V2 support is great and I like the features, it’s just this problem that prevents me from switching to Brave. I tried to find a way to change the extensions storage limit but couldn’t find any option to toggle it, so I don’t know if it’s already possible to change it.
Edit: forgot to add that the problem is that each extension has a 2.1 gb storage limit.
