Brave Onion Search ERR_SOCKS_CONNECTION_FAILED

Description of the issue:
Using Private Tor window; any search result using the default Brave Onion search engine will result in a ERR_SOCKS_CONNECTION_FAILED error.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

1. Open Brave browser
2. Open new Private Tor window
3. Type anything in the browser search bar up top
4. Press enter

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
ERR_SOCKS_CONNECTION_FAILED error

Expected result:
Brave Onion search engine works over HTTPS and provides result.
Or Brave Onion search engine falls back to HTTP?

Reproduces how often:
Today, 21/03/2021 on versions specified below. Continously.

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Issue present across different OS (macOS Monterey, Windows 10).
Brave version 1.36.116 and also 1.36.117.

Are you still encountering this issue? I’m not seeing this issue on my end when using the default search option in a Tor window, nor when using the onion address.

For some reason it’s working now, can’t really explain why.
