Nytimes connection error

Description of the issue:
Getting the following message when attempting to access https://nytimes.com

www.nytimes.com is blocked

www.nytimes.com refused to connect.
ERR_BLOCKED_BY_RESPONSE

Opens a TOR browser and attempts to access the site via an onion address, but immediately fails.

How can this issue be reproduced?
Visit the site.

  1. Type in URL and visit site
  2. Tor browser opens
  3. Both sites experience a connection error

Expected result:
Should visit the site.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.60.118 Chromium: 119.0.6045.163 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:
Windows 10
All extensions turned off.
Attempted in incognito mode, same results.
Attempted with shields turned off, same results.
Can access fine in Google Chrome.

Is redirect enabled in brave://settings/?search=onion ?

In addition to what @fanboynz said, which is very likely what is happening here, when you say that it fails immediately, have you waited long enough for the Brave-Onion browser to build the session?

It can take ten or more seconds to complete.

Yes, have tried waiting for it to load but it times out.

That seems to be the issue. Unsure why it only happens with that one site.
