Updated Brave, Linux Mint all updated, latest. I did nothing else and now the menu bar at top is missing, no option to restore found inside any setting, no Youtube relevant results, no relevant online search results, nothing works. All inquiries here were closed years ago and no answers found there, either. The menu bar was there this AM. i clicked the “Update” button on Brave and it is now 100% gone. Rebooted many times now, checked for all updates to everything.
Did these companies all remove the top menu bars? The items on it are now all gone. (File/Edit/View?Window/Tools/Bookmarks/History/Help. A few are on the side bar, not all.
If you are not seeing the menu bar when other apps are opened, then something must have changed with respect to the OS. Brave browser (or any app, AFAIK) doesn’t have the power to remove system-based functionality like that — especially not system wide.
I thought you meant do I see them in Brave when I open other apps, etc. No other apps displayed this missing menu bar except Brave. Only Brave has this issue.
When this happened I removed and reinstalled as a fresh install Brave, and it has zero add-ons or extensions. It is a standard install. No extensions or add ons ever even did that before, but there are none. Nothing at all was changed, nothing out of the normal, system updates many times a day, every day. For years. Nothing in it was changed, it simply disappeared last night/yesterday afternoon and has been gone since.
